Even though the Automix often senses the kind of track quite well it would still be very useful to be able to show Genres so we can manually move certain tracks to the start or end of a mix based on a custom Genre we have stored in a track's tag.

the way this is now, the pannel is not usable for me at all. I play a lot of different genres from Chillout, Organic to Tech House in Clubs and pop/Rock 90ies, Disco and stuff like this - in my Rekordbox Collection.

Without displaying the genre its a pain to find a matching track :-| ...

Yes I understand. We will come up with a drastic rebuild of this screen.

Any news about the integration on GENRE column in Playlist window?

I write on it eight month ago and it isn’t implemented on latest build already.

In my case track discriminating by GENRE is very useful in order to guide the automix and avoid that the selection is made with criteria, avoiding Funky House -> Tech House -> again Funky House track selection.

This is my killer feature in order to buy DJ.Studio.

I was just logging in to post this! Showing the Genre under (at least) Playlist is as essential for DJs to program sets as tempo and key are. Currently I'm playlisting the set on rekordbox then importing it to DJ Studio for mixing, just because rekordbox makes it easier for me to sequence tracks using Genre (among other things).

I undersatand the wish to automix on Genre. But how? Genre is a free text field and with all those music rippers out there there are thousends fo names for genres..

And how do we handle different genre titles for the same genre?

And how do we order them? By genre tempo? So you want us to bundle the tracks by genre in the automix?

Hi Siebrand, the Genre doesn't need to be part of the automix magic, if there could just be the option of a column displayed in the Playlist window. This would very useful to anyone who has stored their own custom genres, stored in the files tag. It would help us identify certain tracks that we might choose to manually insert because the custom genre might describe it as a "70's disco floor filler", for example.

So to understand you correctly, You just want the genre in the playlist grid?

It is now already in the library view...

But you want to have it in this view?

            Hey Chris,

Ahh the solver... that one will be replaced soon by an instance of the real livrary with some active filters on it. This way you can also use the solver on Beatport or any of your local libraries.

Any news about introducing genre (and also date added) in the Playlist view (second screen)?

It is an important feature in order to avoid that the selection is made with criteria, avoiding Funky House -> Tech House -> again Funky House track selection.
