Currently there seems to be a compressor/limiter with relatively short lookahead on the master channel ("A" button). This has the disadvantage that the silent parts in long breakdowns will slowly increase in volume until they are eventually just as loud as the "drop", rendering most of the energy as ineffective once it drops.
I propose you switch to a Maximizer instead. This has the benefit that you don't need to consider a lookahead at all. Simply provide a threshold (say -1.5 dB or -3dB for heavier attenuation) and a release time (100 ms has proven itself as a good value for mastering mixes). This way only really loud parts exceeding either -3dB or -1.5dB will be limited thereby "smoothing out" the mix without interfering with quieter parts and hence keeping more dynamics.
