Optimization for NPUs and ARM processors

Feature Request

With the proliferation of AI PCs equipped with NPUs, I'm curious about their rendering performance. It would be helpful to see benchmarks of DJ.Studio running various workflows on devices like the Microsoft Surface with Intel Ultra or the Mac Mini with M4 chips. I'm considering purchasing one of these, but I'm concerned about reports that many applications not optimized for the Apple M4/Intel Ultra architecture may not fully utilize the chip's capabilities, potentially resulting in less-than-expected performance gains. Also, I assume DJ.Studio does not work on cost-effective PCs featuring the ARM Snapdragon X chip series, despite their impressive capabilities. Are there any plans to add support for these devices?

    Yes, on M4 machine we use the GPU for stem separation.
    We are adding support for NVIDIA 50-series as we speak.
    We don’t have plans yet for ARM Snapdragon X chips, but that can change…

      After seeing how sluggish DJ Studio runs on my Windows Intel laptop, I hoped for better performance on my Snapdragon X device. Unfortunately, without a native port that takes advantage of the NPU, the experience remains just as disappointing. A Mac is not an option with its fixed storage, so it would be great to make use of the amazing hardware in my Snapdragon X laptop.

    I see this option in the Core AI extension:
    “Some Al processes can be very intensive. On a fast CPU it can be done at 2 - 4

    speed. If you own fast hardware like an Apple M processor or a modem NVIDIA

    GPU, you can increase the speed to 20 -120 speed by enabling GPU acceleration.

    This setting is switched on by default but if you run into trouble you can switch to

    CPU instead.”
    Can you please confirm if the M4 chips will be able to utilize this? And what about the Intel Ultra?
    Other than that, it’d be amazing to include support for ARM Snapdragon X chips, since there are very impressive PCs out there at an exceptionally low price.
