Mix split

Feature Request

I was wondering if at some point there will be a feature where the mix can have a marker added so that the mix is able to be split in 2 halves with a fade out and in, when it is exported.

I have a weekly radio show and am making my mix here then bouncing it out so i can split it in ableton before i upload it, would be awesome to be able to add the split for the ad break all in dj studio

    I spent years on FM Radio producing DJ mixsets in the early 2000s and from that experience agree this would be a feature that could save significant time.

    Radio programs usually have set schedule of program breaks for advertising.

    I generally did 2 and 4 hour mixsets as well as 12 hour feature mixsets for new years day.

    FM Radio generally can insert 5 minutes of advertising for each hour, so a program may be split as follows: (Advertising Minutes in Brackets)

    For each 2 hours:

    25 - (1) - 30 - (2) - 25 - (1) - 30 - (1)

    20 - (1) - 30 - (2) - 20 - (1) - 30 - (1) - 10

    (2.5) - 55 - (5) - 55 - (2.5)

    Longer programs may be a combination.

    It would be great to have the option to select an radio audio tag for each split marker that are stored in the sample library.

    Stations usually provide audio tags to place in the breakdowns as well as on the last beat of the 4, 8 or 16 beat fade-out from the split mark. Some tags have a drum beat in them so they need to beat-align with the fade out beats.

    So it would also be great to specify the length in beats for the fade-out and what beat to place the audio tag.

    Also, it would be great to be able to specify overlapping on the splitting of the mix.

    What I mean by this is the split marker could mark where to start the next audio segment only while another split market could mark where to end the current audio segment.

    The start of the next segment and the end of the previous segment could be parameters within the split marker recorded as the number of beats before & after the marker (a positive number is after, a negative number is before).

    It would also be helpful to see at the split marker the time-length of the segment being set/adjusted as well as the total time of all segments.

    This feature would remove the need to post-ediit the mixset in alternative audio editors saving a lot of time which over a year of weekly programs adds up.
