Edit MP4 files and export the edited MP4 file

As a DJ who plays MP4 files, I often need to make ‘edits’ of the audio file. A common reason is to extend the audio with a 4 bar intro/outro. That is easy to do in DJ Studio. But the export option with Video (I have the Ultimate version), only allows exporting of the DJ Studio-generated VFX. That’s not what most DJs will want for this use case.

I would like the export of the edited MP4 file. Every MP4 file has a video and audio layer. Many DJs will edit the audio layer, but want the corresponding video layer that gets manipulated with the audio layer to be available too.

Adding a preview window that shows the Video layer that is playing would be a much needed add-on as well.

I’m not asking DJ Studio to become a Video editing platform. I’m simply asking for the ability to view the edited video layer when working with an MP4, and to export the file with the edited video layer along with the edited audio layer.

Ableton is a good example of this. It’s focused only on audio editing, but when you edit an MP4 file, it has the minimum codecs to allow you to preview the corresponding video layer as you edit the audio layer. It’s not a feature-rich video editing DAW, it’s an audio DAW that allows you to export the MP4 and all the corresponding video edits as you edit the audio.

That’s what I would LOVE DJ Studio to be able to do.
