Cutting a 5 minute section out of a long 12"

Hi,

Whilst creating a mix with DJ Studio.
My first track is very long, it's a brilliant track and remix barring the middle section which goes on a little too long.
I want to cut this section out.
So far I have split a section for the first cut and ending cut, deleted that section out, no problem at that stage.
My problem is on the join, it sounds like the record is jumping, needs smoothing out, a small bar section etc, until it sounds just right.
I have tried deleting a full bar out but it still doesn't sound right, it sounds like someone bumping into the turntables in the 90's :-)

Anyone else had this problem, can anyone offer some tips?
I have tried splitting a really small section but I am unable to select split?
