Build a playlist.

Feature Request

So the idea is simple. I upload one track into playlist and after i select it studio should open sub window with all harmonic tracks for that track from my library. I add second track and select it then again studio shows all harmonic tracks with that track and so on. Cause now i can upload 20 tracks but i will need to scroll playlist look for tracks then drag and drop its to much unnecessary actions to do. Playlist building feature would make process much more cleaner.

    Hi Mr. Emporium,

    I understand where you are coming from. That's how your live DJ software works. But we do something much better: You select all the tracks you want to play in a set, and then you press Automix. We make sure they ALL get ordered correctly for a perfect harmonic set. A different approach. This is a big release, especially for your radio show where you are bound to fixed tracks.

      But maybe there should be room for some creativity? Because auto mix doesn't mean the only mix. From same 20 song playlist you can build few different mixes which gonna sound perfect. I see no problem to be able to create a playlist only with a drop of help. Beside let's be honest from all studio users maybe 2-5% of people is radio dj or have some music show. Most harmonic mix doesn't mean it is best sounding mix. Especially when people use short transitions or from drop to drop key is not very important. Try to mix deep hypnotic techno where transitions really matters because they are longer. It is not like dance music where transition looks the same all the time tracks 1 beat goes into tracks 2 drop or tracks 1 drop goes into tracks 2 beat which takes 8 to 16 bars. With deep techno transition from track 1 to track 2 makes track 3 because transition is most of the time much longer 32 bars and more. And in this case sound is most important thing and harmonic key is just a number. Even auto mix cant build best sounding mix with deep techno. Automix is the same as ''Democrats'' nowadays who tells what to do because ''they know what is best for you''. I want to control app and not be controlled by app. And most important thing is creativity.

      Hello! I also would like to see this feature.
      While DJ.Studio's current automix feature is powerful, it doesn't account for the nuanced, creative aspects of DJing. A track-by-track playlist building feature would allow DJs to:

      1. Tell stories through music: DJs often craft narratives in their sets, which requires careful song selection and ordering that goes beyond harmonic compatibility.

      2. Create context-specific mixes: For example, fitness instructors need to build playlists that follow a specific energy progression (warm-up, peak intensity, cool-down) which may not align with perfect harmonic mixing.

      3. Adapt to specialized genres: As mentioned by Mr. Emporium, genres like deep hypnotic techno require longer transitions where overall sound matters more than strict harmonic matching.

      4. Maintain creative control: Many DJs prefer to "use their ears" and make artistic choices that an algorithm can't replicate.

        You are right. Soon we will release our new library that will know about all your music on your computer. We will then have the power to make track suggestions for your current track. We hear you, we listen, and we build. Although that takes some time ;-)
